There’s no magic formula for developing successful products, but there are certain practices that tend to improve the odds. These are typically referred to as “best practices.” Of course, what counts as a best practice can vary depending on the context. In general, though, best practices are methods, tools or techniques that have been associated with improved performance in product development. That could mean higher success rates, faster development times or lower costs.
There’s no guarantee that following best practices will lead to success. But suppose you want to give your product the best possible chance of succeeding. In that case, it’s worth seeking out and implementing best practices.
