Classification is a product development process whereby items are arranged into groups or classes based on natural relationships.

Classification is a product development process whereby items are arranged into groups or classes based on natural relationships. It’s a bit like trying to classify animals. You might have the obvious ones like mammals, reptiles, fish, birds and amphibians. But then you’ve got the more challenging groups like molluscs, insects, spiders, centipedes, millipedes… The list goes on. And don’t even get me started on arthropods. The point is, it’s not always easy to classification can be pretty tricky. But it’s a necessary process in product development, so we just have to get on with it.
